Summary

A simple day care procedure using a hypodermic needle effectively treats suture track fistulas (STF) after hypospadias surgery. This minimally invasive technique offers a solution for patients experiencing urinary leakage and embarrassment.

Background:

Suture track fistula (STF) is a common complication following hypospadias surgery.
STF can cause urinary leakage, leading to patient distress and social embarrassment.
Current treatments for STF involve conventional surgical repair, which may not always be suitable.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe a novel, simple day care procedure for the ablation of STF epithelium.
To evaluate the efficacy of this minimally invasive 'needling' technique.

It provides a less invasive alternative to conventional fistula repair.
The procedure addresses a significant source of patient and parental concern following hypospadias surgery.
