This study introduces a new method for making cranioplasty implants using 3D design and cold injection molding. The process involves creating patient-specific implants with a consistent shape and minimal post-production adjustments. The implants are made from a material called polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and contain gentamicin to reduce infection risk. The study followed 15 patients who received these implants and found that the results were accurate and reliable. Post-surgery scans showed the implants fit well and had a low complication rate. The authors suggest this method could be a more efficient and precise alternative to traditional cranioplasty techniques.
