Primary Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma of the Urinary Tract: A Population-Based Analysis

This study identified key factors influencing survival in urinary tract diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Advanced age, male gender, and stage IV disease are poor prognostic indicators for DLBCL patients.

- Primary DLBCL of the urinary tract (UT) is rare, with limited understanding of its clinical features and prognosis.

- To investigate the clinical characteristics of UT-DLBCL.
- To identify independent prognostic factors for survival in patients with UT-DLBCL using the SEER database.

- Retrospective analysis of the SEER database (1975-2016) for UT-DLBCL cases.
- Collected data on demographics, tumor stage, and treatments (surgery, radiation, chemotherapy).
- Utilized Kaplan-Meier curves to analyze overall survival (OS) and disease-specific survival (DSS).

- Analyzed 489 patients; median age was 69.
- Most UT-DLBCL cases originated from the kidney (72.39%) and bladder (24.95%).
- Surgical resection and chemotherapy significantly improved OS and DSS. Patients over 75 and Stage IV DLBCL had worse outcomes.
Conclusions:
- This is the largest population-based study on UT-DLBCL.
- Advanced age, male gender, lack of surgery or chemotherapy, and Stage IV disease are poor prognostic factors for UT-DLBCL.
