Abstract:
Nurse practitioners (NPs) possess expert clinical knowledge that can be optimized to ensure delivery of high-quality care. In the United States, NP scope of practice is generally expanding. With expanding scope of practice comes increased revenue potential, and in some cases, entrepreneurial opportunities for NPs. Therefore, NPs must be familiar with current procedural terminology codes to ensure appropriate billing and maximize reimbursement from payers.
