Primary cardiac angiosarcoma is a rare cancer. A novel treatment combining surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted therapy improved survival in a patient with this rare heart tumor.

Primary cardiac angiosarcoma is a rare malignancy with poor prognosis.
Most patients present with metastatic disease, complicating treatment and survival outcomes.

Observation:

A 45-year-old woman presented with a primary heart tumor infiltrating the right atrial wall and pericardium.
Histological examination confirmed angiosarcoma.

Findings:

The patient underwent palliative resection followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy and targeted therapy.
This multimodal approach resulted in an overall survival of 23 months.

Implications:

This case suggests a potential treatment strategy for primary cardiac angiosarcoma.
Further research is warranted to establish standardized treatment protocols and improve patient survival and quality of life for this rare cancer.
