Summary

Data mining reveals conventional trans-catheter arterial chemoembolization (cTACE) is more effective for early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Microsphere (DC bead TACE) is better for single tumors, with smaller beads showing superior results.

Background:

  • Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treatment often involves trans-catheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE).
  • Two primary TACE methods exist: conventional (cTACE) and DC bead TACE.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the effectiveness of cTACE and DC bead TACE using data mining techniques.
  • To establish treatment guidelines for HCC patients based on comparative TACE effectiveness.
  • To leverage data mining for insights into complex HCC treatment responses.
