Biochemical determination of plasma oxytocinase during pregnancy

We measured oxytocinase (cystine aminopeptidase-CAP) activity in the plasma of primiparous and multiparous pregnant women who were examined periodically during gestation. The level of CAP increased from the beginning to the end of pregnancy. The activity of CAP in primiparous women was higher than in multiparous women.
