Spatial Dependence of CT Emphysema in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Quantified by Using Join-Count Statistics

A new CT measurement, normalized join count (NJC), quantifies emphysema voxel compactness in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). NJC better differentiates COPD severity and correlates with lung function than existing measures.
