Abstract:
The resected uterine specimens from 80 patients with gestational choriocarcinoma were analysed clinicopathologically as to the proportion of two types of trophoblastic cells, from 1962 to 1980. The results show: (1) The patients, whose uterine specimens showing predominantly cytotrophoblastic cells, have poorer prognosis. (2) The majority of cases with long latent period and protracted course speak for the cytotrophoblastic cell predominant type. (3) There is no obvious relation between age, antecedent pregnancy type, clinical stage and the quantity of different trophoblastic cells.
