Abstract:
We investigate the possibleregular magnetic order(RMO) for the spin models with globalO(3) spin rotation, based on a group theoretical approach for triangular and kagome lattices. The main reason to study these RMOs is that they are good variational candidates for the ground states of many specific models. In this work, we follow the prescription introduced by Messioet al(2011Phys. Rev.B83184401) for thep6mgroup and extended their work for different subgroups ofp6m, i.e.,p6,p3,p3m1, andp31m. We list all the possible regular magnetic orders for triangular and kagome lattices, which fall into the category of these groups. We calculate the energies and the spin structure factors for each of these states.

Colors and Magnetism
When atoms or molecules absorb light at the proper frequency, their electrons are excited to higher-energy orbitals. For many main group atoms and molecules, the absorbed photons are in the ultraviolet range of the electromagnetic spectrum, which cannot be detected by the human eye. For coordination compounds, the energy difference between the d orbitals often allows photons in the visible range to be absorbed and emitted, which is seen as colors by the human...

Magnetic Field due to Moving Charges
Consider a point charge moving with a constant velocity. Like the electric field, the magnetic field at any point is directly proportional to the magnitude of the charge and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the source point and the field point. However, unlike the electric field, the magnetic field is always perpendicular to the plane containing the line...
