Mildly reduced kidney function in older adults did not increase dementia risk but was linked to slower processing speed. Managing cardiovascular health may prevent cognitive decline in those with kidney issues.

- Monitoring cardiovascular risk factors in individuals with moderately impaired kidney function could potentially prevent further cognitive decline.
