Nodular fasciitis: a case report.

Summary

Nodular fasciitis, a rare soft tissue lesion, was correctly diagnosed histologically. Conservative surgical treatment led to no recurrence after 15 months, indicating successful management of this benign neoplasm.

Background:

Nodular fasciitis is a benign, fibroblastic proliferation that can mimic malignant tumors.
Accurate diagnosis is crucial for appropriate management and patient prognosis.

Observation:

A case presented with a lesion diagnosed as nodular fasciitis.
Histologic examination confirmed the diagnosis, distinguishing it from other soft tissue tumors.

Findings:

Conservative surgical therapy was employed for the nodular fasciitis.
Post-operative follow-up at 15 months showed no signs of residual or recurrent disease.

Implications:

This case highlights the importance of accurate histologic diagnosis in managing nodular fasciitis.
Conservative surgical excision appears to be an effective treatment, yielding favorable long-term outcomes.
