Perceptual Access Reasoning (PAR) in Developing a Representational Theory of Mind

Children often pass false-belief tasks using perceptual access reasoning (PAR), not true belief understanding, until middle childhood. This challenges the idea that representational theory of mind (ToM) develops in preschool years.
