A rare extradigital glomus tumor caused severe shoulder pain. Surgical removal of this benign neoplasm resolved symptoms, highlighting the importance of considering unusual locations for glomus tumors.

Background:

Glomus tumors are benign neoplasms originating from glomus bodies, which regulate skin blood flow and temperature.
Classical symptoms include localized pain, tenderness, and cold hypersensitivity, typically in subungual locations.

Observation:

A rare case of an extradigital glomus tumor presented as severe, paroxysmal pain in the right shoulder, exacerbated by movement.
The tumor's deep location between the scapula and posterior chest wall made it non-palpable and clinically undetectable.

Findings:

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) was crucial in locating the deep-seated extradigital glomus tumor.
Surgical resection of the glomus tumor resulted in complete symptom resolution for the patient.
