Correlations between measures of ALS respiratory function: is there an alternative to FVC?

Sniff nasal inspiratory pressure (SNIP) is not a surrogate for forced vital capacity (FVC) or slow vital capacity (SVC) in ALS patients. However, SNIP is a complementary respiratory measure that declines over time and differentiates disease onset.
