Background:

  • Physical health status is crucial for patients with short bowel syndrome, influencing readmissions, psychological well-being, and mortality.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the feasibility and effectiveness of a 12-week individualized exercise intervention combined with nutrition counseling.
  • To evaluate the impact on physical function tests (Timed-Up-and-Go, 30s Chair Stand Test), body composition, and quality of life (EuroQol 5D-5L).

Main Methods:

  • A 12-week program included three weekly home-based exercise sessions and nutrition counseling focused on protein intake and stoma output.
