Isochromosome 17q in a patient with acute myeloblastic leukemia

This report describes a case of acute myeloblastic leukemia (FAB type M2) with i(17q) as the sole cytogenetic abnormality. This is a rare finding in acute nonlymphocytic leukemia, not previously reported in the M2 subtype of this disorder.
