A study to evaluate psychological and occlusal parameters in bruxism

Anxiety, depression, and prolonged disclusion time are linked to bruxism. Individuals experiencing higher levels of psychological distress and altered occlusal function show a greater tendency towards bruxism, a condition characterized by teeth grinding.

- Increased disclusion time, indicative of occlusal dysfunction, may predispose individuals to bruxism.
- These findings suggest a multifactorial etiology for bruxism, involving psychological and biomechanical elements.
