In open-angle glaucoma, the iridocorneal angle remains open, but the trabecular meshwork becomes stiff, slowing down the outflow of aqueous humor. This causes a buildup of aqueous humor in the anterior chamber, leading to a sudden increase in intraocular pressure. Summary

Accommodative support (AS) lenses did not significantly improve computer vision syndrome (CVS) symptoms in pre-presbyopic adults compared to single vision lenses. However, AS lenses showed no adverse effects on visual functions and were preferred by participants after a trial period.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of AS lenses in improving CVS symptoms.
  • To determine if binocular/accommodative functions predict a positive response to AS lenses.
  • To assess the long-term (six months) impact of AS lenses on binocular/accommodative functions.

Main Methods:

  • A randomized controlled trial involving pre-presbyopic adults with CVS symptoms (CVS-Q score ≥ 6).
  • Participants were assigned to wear either AS lenses or control single vision (SV) lenses.
