Background:

  • Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a significant concern in late preterm pregnancies.
  • The umbilical and cerebral artery pulsatility index ratio (UCR) is a key Doppler ultrasound marker.
  • Longitudinal assessment of UCR in FGR requires further investigation.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the longitudinal changes of the UCR in fetuses with late preterm fetal growth restriction.
  • To determine the predictive value of serial UCR measurements for adverse neonatal outcomes.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective European multicenter observational study.
  • Inclusion criteria: singleton pregnancies (32-36 weeks) at risk of FGR.
  • UCR categorized as normal (<0.9) or abnormal (≥0.9); assessed longitudinally.
