Background:

Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is a common procedure for osteoarthritis, significantly impacting patient quality of life.
Conventional TKA boasts an 80-85% success rate.
Robotic assisted TKA has been utilized in Israel since 2019.

Purpose of the Study:

To review the current literature and clinical data comparing conventional TKA with robotic assisted TKA.
To evaluate the precision and outcomes of robotic assisted TKA.

Main Methods:

Review of existing studies and clinical data on robotic assisted TKA versus conventional TKA.
Analysis of robotic system capabilities in pre-operative and intra-operative planning for precise bone cuts.

Main Results:

Robotic systems provide assistance in precise femur and tibia cuts, potentially improving soft tissue balance and lower limb axis reconstruction.
While robotic surgery adoption is increasing, current clinical data do not demonstrate a significant advantage over conventional TKA.
Some studies indicate improved imaging results with robotic assistance.

Conclusions:

The clinical benefits of robotic assisted TKA remain uncertain due to a lack of large-scale, long-term studies.
Further research is required to establish the definitive advantages of robotic assisted TKA.
