The United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference and the Global Conference on Health and Climate Change convened to address interconnected crises.
The climate crisis is increasingly recognized as a significant global health crisis.

Discussion:

The health impacts of climate change include increased poverty, food and water insecurity, and infectious disease transmission.
These adverse effects are most pronounced in lower-income countries, exacerbating existing vulnerabilities.

Key Insights:

Lower-income countries face a dual burden, experiencing severe climate-related health issues and the highest mortality and collateral damage from COVID-19.
There is a critical need to address the disproportionate impact of global crises on vulnerable populations.

Outlook:

Integrated approaches are necessary to tackle both climate change and global health challenges.
Policy interventions must prioritize support for lower-income countries to build resilience against climate and health shocks.
