Isolated Lumbar Atypical Choroid Plexus Papilloma: A Case Report

Summary
This case report details the first instance of an isolated lumbar atypical choroid plexus papilloma (CPP). This rare spinal tumor was successfully resected without neurological deficit.

- Lumbar MRI revealed an intradural extramedullary mass at L2-3.
- Histopathology confirmed a grade II atypical choroid plexus papilloma with a Ki-67 index of 7%.
Findings:
- Complete tumor resection was achieved via partial laminectomies.
- The patient experienced no neurological deficits post-surgery.
- Postoperative imaging showed no residual or new lesions.
Implications:
- This case expands the known locations for atypical CPP.
- The diagnosis of CPP should be considered for isolated spinal lesions.
- The pathogenesis of isolated spinal CPP remains unclear.
