Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with active cancer who transitioned to rivaroxaban after a minimum of four weeks of standard VTE therapy.
  • To analyze secondary outcomes from the Cancer-associated thrOmboSIs - Patient-reported outcoMes with rivarOxaban (COSIMO) study.

Main Methods:

  • The COSIMO study was a multinational, prospective, noninterventional, single-arm cohort study.
  • A total of 505 patients received at least one dose of rivaroxaban, with the majority (96.6%) switching from low-molecular-weight heparin.

  • In patients with CAT switching to rivaroxaban after initial standard therapy, observed VTE recurrence and bleeding event rates align with rivaroxaban's established efficacy and safety profile.
  • Rivaroxaban demonstrates a favorable safety and effectiveness profile for managing VTE in patients with active cancer.
