High-dose ascorbic acid (vitamin C) shows promise as an add-on therapy for relapsed refractory multiple myeloma. This approach may improve treatment outcomes in patients resistant to conventional chemotherapy.

- In a cohort of 4 heavily pretreated patients (6-9 prior lines of therapy), 1 achieved complete response.
- The remaining 3 patients experienced very good partial responses after 4 cycles of combination therapy.
Implications:
- Pharmacological doses of ascorbic acid may enhance conventional chemotherapy efficacy in relapsed refractory multiple myeloma.
- Further clinical trials with larger patient cohorts are warranted to validate these findings and establish optimal dosing for plasma cell disorders.
