Diagnosis of AL-type amyloidosis from bile duct wall thickening

Inoue and colleagues report a rare case in which jaundice was the initial symptom and bile duct wall thickening led to the diagnosis of systemic AL-type amyloidosis. The thickened bile duct wall in this case showed characteristic findings on various examinations, which may prove useful to clinicians in the future.
