Workplace status and context profoundly influence employee experiences.

Existing research on status shields and the job characteristics model provides a foundation for this study.

Purpose of the Study:

To examine how status, status shields, and work context affect pharmacy workers' perceptions of their jobs.
To investigate the influence of specific pharmacy roles (technicians, pharmacists, students) and settings (independent, retail, hospital) on job-related feelings.
To test hypotheses concerning meaning in work, impact at work, job satisfaction, and intent to quit within the pharmacy workforce.

Utilized survey data from 298 pharmacy workers in the United States.
Employed a conceptualization of status shields as integral to the pharmacy hierarchy and work contexts.
