Cardiovascular evaluation using exercise testing performed with face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, fewer exercise tests (ET) were conducted and more were stopped due to shortness of breath. However, exercise tolerance remained similar, with increased blood pressure and myocardial oxygen utilization observed.

- The COVID-19 pandemic era saw a reduction in exercise stress tests performed.
- Exercise tests were more frequently halted due to dyspnea during the pandemic.
- Elevated systolic blood pressure and myocardial oxygen utilization were noted in patients undergoing exercise testing during the pandemic.
