Background:

Spindle cell tumors are rare neoplasms.
Retroperitoneal tumors present diagnostic challenges due to their location.

Observation:

A 52-year-old female presented with persistent right upper quadrant abdominal pain.
Imaging revealed an 11 cm retroperitoneal soft tissue mass.
The mass was surgically excised and diagnosed as a spindle cell tumor.

Findings:

Histopathological diagnosis confirmed a spindle cell tumor.
Complete tumor removal was achieved.
Partially invaded lesions were also addressed during surgery.

Implications:

This case underscores the importance of recognizing and understanding rare retroperitoneal spindle cell tumors.
