Puerarin alleviates cadmium-induced mitochondrial mass decrease by inhibiting PINK1-Parkin and Nix-mediated mitophagy

This study reveals how cadmium causes neurotoxicity by decreasing mitochondrial mass via mitophagy. Puerarin, a natural compound, protects neurons by inhibiting this process, showing potential for treating cadmium-induced nerve damage.
