[Endoscopic sclerosis of esophageal varices]

Abstract:
A complete revision is presented of the indications, contraindications, results and complications, and also the different techniques employed, and a short story of the sclerosing technique in all the world. Also, a study of the different physiopathological subjects of the formation and bleeding of the esophageal varices. We also present the results of the 202 patients treated by our group, in a 8 year period. The overall survival is 65% and the hemorrhage suppression is 87.9%. The complication were smallest, and only one death was imputable to this technique.
