Subepidermal Schwann cell counts correlate with skin innervation - an exploratory study

Small-fiber neuropathy (SFN) patients show reduced dermal Schwann cells and skin innervation compared to controls. Schwann cell counts correlated with nerve fiber density but not pain in SFN.
