Stand-Alone Interbody Cage to Treat Cervical Facet Dislocation: A Case Report

Case:
We present a 36-year-old man who sustained a traumatic C5-6 unilateral facet dislocation without neurological deficit. The patient was treated with anterior diskectomy and fusion using a stand-alone interbody cage.
Conclusion:
Current treatment of cervical facet dislocations (CFDs) in patients undergoing an anterior cervical diskectomy and fusion commonly makes use of plates with screw fixation and interbody grafts or cages to achieve spinal fusion after the diskectomy is performed. This report documents the successful treatment of a CFD with a stand-alone interbody cage.
