BRCA2 mutations are linked to telomere dysfunction. This study shows increasing telomere loss and signals in lymphoid cells with reduced BRCA2 function, indicating BRCA2 haploinsufficiency affects telomere maintenance.

- Multitelomeric signals (MTS) significantly increased between BRCA2+/+ and BRCA2+/- and BRCA2-/- cells, but not between mutated genotypes.
- Dysfunctional telomeres were progressively higher in cells with reduced BRCA2 function.

- BRCA2 haploinsufficiency significantly impacts telomere maintenance.
- Stepwise increase in telomere dysfunction correlates with decreasing functional BRCA2 alleles.
