  • Measurements were taken from 124 normal volunteers and patients with various cancers.

  • Mean plasma sialic acid levels were elevated in breast, lung, colon, ovarian, cervix, pancreas, prostate, thyroid, uterine, squamous cell, esophageal, and endometrial cancers compared to controls.
