Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of canine percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) for removing implanted renal stones.
  • To assess the impact of PNL on renal parenchyma.

  • Percutaneous nephrostomies were created in five dogs using fluoroscopic guidance.
  • Teflon fascial dilators were used to implant stones (0.25-1.00 cm) into renal pelves.
  • Renal stones were subsequently removed via recreated PN tracts under fluoroscopic and endoscopic visualization.
