Polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) implants can cause wrist inflammation and complications due to particle generation. Surgeons should consider this rare adverse tissue reaction when using PEEK devices.

  • This case highlights a rare but significant adverse local tissue reaction associated with PEEK implant wear debris.

  • Awareness of potential PEEK particle-induced synovitis is crucial for surgeons using these implants.
  • Further research into the long-term behavior and biocompatibility of PEEK in orthopedic applications is warranted.
