Summary
Genotyping multivesicular cystic echinococcosis (CE), a significant zoonotic disease caused by Echinococcus granulosus, remains uncharacterized. Identifying the genotype could improve clinical understanding and management of this parasitic infection.
Area of Science:
- * Parasitology
- * Infectious Diseases
- * Molecular Biology
Background:
- * Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a major zoonotic parasitic disease globally.
- * The causative agent is the tapeworm *Echinococcus granulosus*.
- * The genotypic diversity of multivesicular CE is currently unknown.
