Abstract:
The objective of this study was to find out the variation mechanism of minerals in peanut for improving the discrimination power of multi-element models of geographical origin. Effects of sub-region, variety, and their interaction on 22 elements in peanut were studied based on field experiments. And the ability of the elements closely related to sub-region to identify the origins of peanuts from the same and different years was examined. In addition, the relationships between geographical markers in peanut and in provenance soil or rainwater were further analyzed. The results showed that sub-region, variety, and their interaction had significant effects on variation of elements in peanut and the elements were classified according to the factor. Na, Mg, Ca, V, Mn, Ni, Zn, Sr, Rh, and Cd were selected as the geographical markers and extremely significantly correlated with soil and rainwater. It was efficient to discriminate peanuts based on ten geographical markers.
