Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To elucidate the specific molecular pathways targeted by DRE in protecting against DSS-induced UC.

Main Methods:

  • An animal model of UC was established using DSS administration in mice.
  • Mice were treated with varying doses of DRE, sulfasalazine, or DRE with a MAPK agonist.
  • Colon damage was assessed via the Colon Mucosal Damage Index (CMDI) and histopathology.
