    Background:

    • Herpes simplex virus (HSV) can cause hepatitis, particularly in immunocompromised individuals.
    • Hepatitis in immunocompetent adults is less common and can present with nonspecific symptoms.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To describe the clinical and histological features of herpes simplex hepatitis in immunocompetent adults.
    • To highlight the diagnostic value of liver biopsy in these cases.

    • Retrospective review of eight cases of herpes simplex hepatitis.
    • Analysis of clinical presentations, liver biopsy findings (histology, electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry).
