[Possibilities of ultrasound diagnosis in dermatology]

At present, ultrasound is the only available non-invasive method to give information about in vivo structures of the skin. We report on the most important physical fundamentals and technical requirements for diagnostic ultrasound in dermatology. Furthermore we discuss the actual clinical use of the technique.
