Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the correlation between endothelial dysfunction and GDM.
  • To assess endothelial function markers in GDM patients.

Main Methods:

  • Recruited 96 GDM patients and 96 healthy controls.
  • Measured endothelial function markers: nitric oxide (NO), endothelin-1 (ET-1), and flow-mediated dilation (FMD).
  • Analyzed correlations using Pearson's analysis and ROC analysis.

Main Results:

  • GDM patients showed decreased FMD and NO levels, and increased ET-1 compared to controls.
  • FMD, ET-1, and NO demonstrated predictive value for GDM via ROC analysis.
  • Endothelial dysfunction correlated with fasting and post-oral glucose tolerance test glucose levels in GDM.

Conclusions:

  • Endothelial dysfunction is associated with GDM.
  • These endothelial markers may serve as potential biomarkers for GDM.
