Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF) is a severe tick-borne illness caused by Rickettsia rickettsii, a Gram-negative, coccobacillary bacterium. Summary

Human cysticercosis, a parasitic infection, can rarely affect muscles in children. Two pediatric cases of isolated intramuscular cysticercosis were successfully treated with steroids and albendazole, leading to complete swelling resolution.
