Purpose of the Study:

To explore the lived experiences of cancer patients in Pakistan.
To identify key factors contributing to suffering and delayed diagnosis.
To propose actionable strategies for improving cancer care.

Main Methods:

Descriptive case study design.
Data collection through interviews with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Inclusion of unstructured observations within a specialized cancer and hospice care facility in Karachi.

Main Results:

Two primary themes emerged: 'suffering' and 'late diagnosis'.
Suffering is linked to poverty, societal views on cancer, and physical pain.
Late diagnosis is associated with cultural health beliefs, low health literacy, and systemic healthcare issues.

Conclusions:
