This study presents a successful single-stage surgery using multiple venous flow-through free flaps to save three traumatically injured fingers. This technique offers a viable option for complex soft tissue loss and multi-digit ischemia.

  • Traumatic crush-avulsion injuries can lead to complex soft tissue loss and acute ischemia in multiple digits.
  • Salvaging multiple digits with severe injuries presents significant reconstructive challenges.

Observation:

  • A 22-year-old male patient sustained crush-avulsion injuries to the left index, ring, and small fingers.
  • The injuries resulted in extensive soft tissue loss and acute ischemia affecting all three digits.

Findings:

  • Immediate revascularization and soft tissue resurfacing were performed using three separate venous flow-through free flaps in a single-stage operation.
  • Follow-up at 9 months demonstrated successful salvage of all three affected digits.
