Urodynamically proven lower urinary tract dysfunction in children after COVID-19: A case series

COVID-19 infection can lead to lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) in children, including incomplete bladder emptying and urinary retention, even months after diagnosis. Clinicians should consider recent COVID-19 infection in pediatric patients presenting with sudden-onset LUTD.

- Pressure flow studies showed an acontractile or hypocontractile detrusor during voiding.

- Sudden-onset LUTD in children may be linked to prior COVID-19 infection.
- Clinicians should consider COVID-19 as a potential cause of pediatric LUTD.
- Further research is needed to elucidate the neuro-urological mechanisms of post-COVID-19 LUTD.
