Background:

Chronic acalculous gallbladder disease diagnosis is difficult despite imaging advances.
Gallstones are absent in a subset of patients with chronic cholecystitis.
Predicting surgical outcomes for these patients requires accurate diagnostic methods.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate a multi-imaging strategy for diagnosing chronic acalculous gallbladder disease.
To determine the predictive value of imaging tests for symptomatic relief post-cholecystectomy.

Main Methods:

Retrospective analysis of 199 patients with chronic cholecystitis.
Assessment of biliary scintigraphy, sonography, and oral cholecystography.
Correlation of imaging findings with histological diagnosis and patient outcomes.
