Surgical Helmets Used During Total Joint Arthroplasty Harbor Common Pathogens: A Cautionary Note

Surgical helmets used in arthroplasty are frequently contaminated with bacteria, including pathogens. Disinfection protocols are needed to prevent surgical site infections from contaminated headwear.
