Background:

General surgery (GS) patients have unique care requirements.
Cloud computing (CC) offers scalable and accessible solutions for healthcare data management.
Existing nursing information platforms may not fully address the needs of GS patients.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop a cloud computing-based nursing information platform (NIP) tailored for general surgery (GS) patients.
To evaluate the clinical application effectiveness of the proposed CC-based NIP system.
To assess the impact of the NIP on medical staff, patients, and family members.

Main Methods:

Analysis of GS patient characteristics, CC concepts, and cloud data center (CDC) architecture.
System design utilizing Visual Studio 2010 to establish evaluation indexes for multiple user ends (medical, patient, family, management).
Expert and user evaluations, followed by statistical analysis using SPSS to determine system efficacy.

Main Results:

Expert evaluations confirmed a high degree of authority (coefficient > 0.7), indicating the system's robustness.
The CC-based GS patient-oriented NIP demonstrated universality and applicability.
User feedback from doctors, nurses, patients, and family members largely supported the system, citing improved convenience and work efficiency.

Conclusions:

The developed cloud computing-based nursing information platform is a viable and effective tool for general surgery patient care.
The system positively impacts efficiency and user experience across different stakeholders.
Further incentives are recommended to promote the adoption and development of such nursing information platforms for GS patients.
